Meet SIAL Canada’s new Innovation Ambassador
Blue Unicorn Innovation is proud to announce that our CEO Dana McCauley has been chosen as SIAL Canada’s Innovation Ambassador for 2017. SIAL Canada is the international food and beverage trade show that occurs on alternate years in Toronto and Montreal. In her ambassador role, Dana will participate as a jury member for the innovation awards and be the show’s spokesperson on innovation and food trends. She will also be in residence during the show in the Central Experts Hub (booth 627) where she will participate in panels and be available to help visitors to the show find the most innovative products and companies.
Dana will also be hosting two conference room panels and a workshop over the three day show to be held at the Enercare Centre from May 2 to 4th.
- May 2, 2017 – 10:30 am Panel: How to Open Millennial Mom’s Wallet: Today’s key food shopper has unique needs and a distinct desire to collaborate. Unlike her mother who looked to food companies and grocers to solve her problems and prescribe solutions, Millennial Mom wants to be part of the problem solving process. To convert her to a loyal customer, retailers and food companies will need to throw away their old systems and give her new ways to experience shopping and cooking.
- May 2, 2017 11:30 Panel: Where Does Innovation Come From in the Food Business? This panel discussion will examine where great ideas come from and why more great ideas don’t succeed. Do multi-million dollar innovation centres and specialized teams hired by large national and multi-national companies create as much value as SME’s? Where are the truly innovative products and retail food concepts coming from and how can the Canadian food sector become a leader that propels Canadian global innovation scores from 15th place to number one?
